Just found you, GREAT. My first delightful introduction to Big Band was in the forties, Geraldo and his Orchestra at the Ritz Cinema in Birkenhead.

Love Serenade Radio. I’m always glad to hear David Yarnall’s show while I work from home. Really appreciate everyone at Serenade but I do enjoy David’s ‘banter’ the most, feels like an old friend has come to visit for a few hours. Cheers!

    To whom it may concern:
The Television show is returning! A whole hour full of great TV themes and reminiscences Saturdays at 6pm from May 4th. As ever I need your requests, let me have a list of your favourite TV shows and I’ll play some classic themes for you. Please use ‘Contact Us’ page with suggestions.
In the meantime the test card and some music…

Hi Andy I’ve just suggested a tv theme tune on FB but can I be greedy and add two more. Van der Valk Eye Level and the Z cars theme as well. Thanks.

Does anyone who listen to this great Radio station remember the Robert farnon society.
It was where my love of light orchestral music started now played on music box and morning music plus through out the day.

I’ve been a member for decades. It only exists as a website now, but the London Light Music Meetings Group still gets together twice yearly and our special guest on May 12th will be conductor Ronald Corp.

I was a member for its last ten years or so, probably one of the younger members as I was 19 when I signed up – I still have all my issues of Journal Into Melody, which was an incredible resource of information.

When the Robert Farnon Society ceased operations in 2013, I established the London Light Music Meetings Group, which held its first meeting in 2014. We have been going ever since – with a necessary break during Covid.
We hold two events per year, at present at the Lancaster Hall Hotel, near Lancaster Gate underground station.
The forthcoming meeting will take place on Sunday May 12th, commencing at 2.00 pm. Full details may be found, along with a great deal of other interesting and useful information, on our website (search London Light Music)

Thank you Dave – I was delighted to find out I share the day not only with Henry Mancini, but also Dusty Springfield and Vince Hill!

How wonderful to hear Jim Reeves singing “The Shifting Whispering Sands” to day on Andy’s Programme. I had only heard the version by Eamon Andrews before, but Jim’s sincerity is so superior. Thank you for this Gem.

It is definitely a sign of good twaddle that you start laughing as soon as you realise what it is going to be. 😅😅

    Steve James, Sunday Breakfast.

Just listening to ‘Morning Dew’ by Bonnie Dobson. What a lovely, sad song. Things to come…..? Thanks, Steve 👍🏻

Hi Armando, yes it’s a beautiful song written by Bonnie Dobson in the early 1960s, although I played her 1969 recording this morning. Its been covered by a wide range of singers and groups, from The Grateful Dead to Lulu, so plenty of other versions to investigate!

Just been listening to Adrian Jackson presenting Showstoppers. I thoroughly enjoyed it . I am a regular listener to this programme but it was so lovely to hear all of that information about the shows and singers. I also enjoyed greatly his programme Evergreen on Thursday evening. Thank you Serenade

In cyber space radio’s vastness the only oasis I’ve found is Serenade.
Please have David Yarnall play I just Called To Say I love you by Stevie Wonder for John and his Hunnybunny Elizabeth.
    God bless you.
